David is the founder and managing director of Tree Dimensions, which has maintained a reputation for arboricultural excellence for over three decades. He has decades of experience in managing local government contracts, needs and expectations. David’s in-depth knowledge of regulatory controls protecting trees, and his broad experience in applying that knowledge, make him a valued consultant to local councils, large-scale projects and state government agencies. He is regularly engaged as an expert witness relating to tree issues. David is also an Acting Commissioner of the NSW Land and Environment Court, where he hears and determines tree disputes and planning appeals.
David is motivated to achieve the best and fairest outcomes for trees in the built environment so that everyone can benefit from the vital services that trees provide.

In his role as director at Tree Dimensions, Matt applies his outstanding communication skills, along with his deep and broad knowledge of arboriculture and horticulture, to both develop the Tree Dimensions team and to deliver high-quality results for every Tree Dimensions client.
Whether identifying tree species confidently and accurately, assessing tree health, applying the latest technology to tree risk assessments (e.g. sonic tomography and resistance drilling), valuing trees (using the i-Tree methodology), or supporting busy councils in all matters relating to trees, Matt’s infectious passion for trees and commitment to excellence is unwavering.
Before joining Tree Dimensions in 2012, Matt’s work as a practical arborist provided him with skills in professional tree maintenance, tree removal and the treatment of tree-related pests and diseases. This knowledge and experience provide a solid foundation for his consulting work, whether for local councils or private developers.
Matt is motivated not only by a deep love for trees but also by his recognition of the importance of understanding and applying new technology and the need to work with clients so that everyone can continue to enjoy living in treed environments.

Matt volunteers for the Friends of Burnley Gardens and is currently the committee’s Vice President.

Joining Tree Dimensions in 2022 as an arboricultural consultant, Rowan applies his extensive experience in his work with local government planning departments, reviewing complicated planning applications involving trees. With a Graduate Certificate in Bushfire Planning & Management, he applies specialist knowledge to assist in the assessment of planning applications relating to bushfire management overlays. Drawing upon his climbing and practical experience, along with his meticulous arboricultural knowledge, he enjoys undertaking advanced risk assessments, including aerial inspections, sonic tomography and resistance drilling tests. Rowan is proficient in the use of GIS software to collect, analyse and report on tree related spatial data.
Rowan pursues a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of arboriculture to best support clients to make sound tree related decisions.

Libby commenced working as an arboricultural consultant at Tree Dimensions in 2023, bringing a wealth of experience from the landscape design, horticulture and event management industries. She undertakes tree assessments on several of Tree Dimensions' local government contracts, specialising in local law tree application reviews. She applies her experience and enthusiasm to urban forest management assessments for local governments and undertakes Project Arborist roles for commercial developments. With a knowledge of tree-related pests and diseases across metropolitan Melbourne, Libby is well-equipped to provide advice on management options.
Libby is always pleased to apply her arboricultural expertise to assist with the successful management of trees in urban environments.

When Phillip joined Tree Dimensions in 2023 as an arboricultural consultant, he brought over 20 years of arboricultural experience garnered in local government and the private sector in Australia, the UK, and New Zealand. Before joining Tree Dimensions, he spent seven years as an Urban Forester in the City of Melbourne’s Urban Forest and Ecology team with responsibility for the Development Portfolio. In his work at Tree Dimensions, Phillip applies his experience in assessing planning applications, construction management plans, tree impact assessments and tree protection plans, as well as tree valuations using the i-Tree methodology.
Phillip enjoys bringing order and efficiency to complicated tree assessment and protection procedures in order to deliver balanced and fair outcomes in complex urban development projects that impact trees.

While at the City of Melbourne, Phillip was a committee member of the Council Arborists of Victoria and worked with Arboriculture Victoria on the Minimum Industry Standard (MIS) for tree valuation, as well as presenting at the National Conference.

Jordan joined Tree Dimensions as an arboricultural consultant in 2023. Prior to that, he worked as a climbing arborist and a local government arborist. In his varied roles at Tree Dimensions, Jordan collects tree data and writes reports to assist developers and architects working around trees, assesses tree damage insurance claims, and audits electrical line clearance compliance. Jordan also assesses tree risk using the ISA TRAQ methodology, sonic tomography testing and resistance drilling. His extensive knowledge of local government tree management systems and excellent customer service are an asset to Tree Dimensions and our clients.
With qualifications and experience in ecology, Jordan can also carry out fauna inspections and assessments.
Jordan is motivated to expand and apply his tree knowledge so that Melbourne continues to benefit from the myriad services that the urban forest provides to all.

With six years of experience working in Melbourne as a consulting arborist, Manori joined the team at Tree Dimensions in early 2024. She is well-versed in assessing trees against planning schemes, both reviewing applications on behalf of local government as well consulting for applicants across a wide range of public and private projects. Manori is also particularly skilled at managing tree assessments for large-scale infrastructure projects and developing creative and efficient GIS solutions for every kind of job. With her keen eye for detail balanced by a grounded understanding of client needs, Manori is a valuable all-rounder at Tree Dimensions who supports the growth of the team while continuing to advance her own knowledge, having recently completed the Master of Urban Horticulture with a research project on modelling tree growth and water use.
Manori's passion as an arborist is complemented by her long-standing interest in languages and communication: her greatest joy is being a translator for trees, advocating for their protection and care in the neighbourhoods that people live and work in.

Patricia joined Tree Dimensions in 2024 as an arboricultural consultant. She applies her in-depth academic experience with data collection, analysis, visualisation and conceptualisation of various research projects to her current work on tree assessments. Patricia quickly developed a deep and sound understanding of Victoria's planning scheme as it applies to protection of trees in local government areas. She applies this knowledge to reviewing a broad range of planning applications requiring the protection of trees.
In an earlier role, Patricia consolidated pre-colonial vegetation information from historical survey plans of Victoria state, focusing on the City of Melbourne council area. Her academic achievements include developing species-specific growth models and canopy cover projection models to monitor progress towards canopy cover targets in new developments of Greater Melbourne.
Patricia enjoys analysing issues, developing solutions, and applying her scientific knowledge to manage all aspects of trees in urban environments.
